"We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Trans African International Film Festival, a platform dedicated to celebrating the vibrant and dynamic storytelling traditions of Africa," said Nixon Wayas. "Through this festival, we aim to showcase the immense talent and creativity of African filmmakers, foster collaboration and cultural exchange, and promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of African cinema on a global scale." In addition to film screenings, the Trans African International Film Festival will offer a range of activities and events, including panel discussions, masterclasses, networking opportunities, youth mentorship program and investment forum. These initiatives are designed to provide filmmakers with the tools, resources, and connections needed to further their careers, develop their craft, and navigate the evolving landscape of the film industry.

the founder of the renown Trans Africa international film festival along side other industry professionals at the first northern filmmakers summit in Kano state north western Nigeria. where key issues affecting filmmaking in Northen Nigeria were discussed and SMART solutions were deliberated. key problems identified during the two days event included Low access to funding, inadequate technical know-how , insufficient capacity strength, low collaborations amongst filmmakers and inadequate active Cinema halls in the 19 northern states. at the summit, participants contributed their quoters by bvoicing the possible solutions to the problems which included increase capacity building, employing recent technologies, accessing financial institutions. TAIFF founder in person of Nixon Wayas stressed the for generational sustainability plans where younger filmmakers will have access to platforms that supports growth and innovations in storytelling in respect to the norms and cultures of the northern Nigeria. the summit was organized by Afri starr productions and Kaduna international film festival.

Scheduled to take place from 26th to 30th November 2024 in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. The festival promises to showcase a diverse array of films, talent, and perspectives from across the continent.

With a mission to amplify African voices and narratives, the Trans African International Film Festival aims to create a platform for filmmakers to share their stories, connect with audiences, and celebrate the richness and diversity of African cinema. The festival will feature a curated selection of films, ranging from feature-length dramas to short documentaries, highlighting the creativity, innovation, and talent present in the African film industry.
